On Sunday Night Rain Storms

(1/24/21)

The rush of a hundred thousand
Troops upon the rooftops,
Clanging artillery which flashes and booms

The city is under attack.

Below, cars drive amongst the fray
Spraying pellets and shrapnel
Upon the sidewalks
Returning fire in a fight
That will not last.

To another theater soon enough
The battle will travel, but
The moment is here
The moment is now, so
Count the coming army
And decide whether to
Resist or sue
For terms of peace.
